Title 1 Parent Engagement Plan
Fairview School
Parent Engagement Plan for Shared Student Success
What is Title I?
Fairview School is identified as a Title I school as part of the Elementary and Secondary Act of 1965 (ESA). Title I is designed to support state and local school reform efforts tied to challenging state academic standards and reinforce and enhance efforts to improve teaching and learning for students. Title I programs must be based on effective means to improve student achievement strategies to support parental involvement. All Title I schools must jointly develop, with parents, a written parent and family engagement plan.
What is our Title I Parent Engagement Plan?
This plan describes how Fairview will provide opportunities to improve parent and family engagement to support student learning. Fairview values the contributions and involvement of parents to establish an equal partnership for the common goal of improving student achievement. This plan describes ways Fairview will support engagement and how parents can help plan and participate in activities and events to promote student learning at school and home. Families are invited to participate in the activities described in this plan.
Goals for Student Achievement
- 65% of Fairview students will demonstrate proficiency (Level 3, 4, or 5) on the End of Grade Reading Test by the year 2025.

- Our EC subgroup will grow from 17% to 30% proficiency on the Reading End of Grade Test and from 24% to 40% proficiency on the Math End of Grade Test by the year 2025.

PTA Meetings
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) serves as a bridge between families and the school, creating a collaborative environment that enhances student success. By joining the PTA, parents gain a voice in their children's education and the school community's decisions. Active participation allows families to build relationships, stay informed about school initiatives and challenges, and contribute to solutions that benefit all students. Members can volunteer at school events, participate in fundraising efforts, and advocate for policies that promote student achievement. Fairview invites all parents to attend our monthly PTA meetings.
School-Parent Compact
A Home-School Compact for Achievement is an agreement that parents, students, and teachers develop through collaboration and feedback. It explains how parents and teachers will work together to ensure all students reach grade-level standards and improve student achievement.
Parent-Family Engagement
Fairview believes that parent-family engagement means the participation of parents and families in regular, two-way, meaningful communication involving student academic learning and other school activities. Parents play a vital role in student achievement by:
- Ensuring students are at school and on time.
- Helping students learn at home by making sure homework is complete.
- Staying informed about students’ education and communicating with the school regularly.
- Participating whenever possible in opportunities at school.
